STAND FOR THE OPPRESSED
(#1 Daily Devotional Tract by Dr. Isaiah & Lianna Wealth)
📆 Thursday, 3rd August, 2017.
📜 SCRIPTURAL TEXT:
“And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him, and said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly.”
🔹 🔹 🔹
Even Lot had his faith tested on a day when the city of Sodom and Gomorrah was to go down. Outside his door were a group of unreasonable men who desired to rape his guests, but we see in our scriptural text today how that he stood against their plot, putting himself at risk thereby.
Often times, kindness would involve sticking out your neck for what you know to be right, insisting for justice on behalf of the oppressed. Rather than keeping mute and pretending not to have noticed, kindness demands that you use your influence or advantage to defend and protect the vulnerable to the best of your ability. Glory to God!
Isaiah 1:17 summarises all this in one sentence: “Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.” Live out God’s kindness today by speaking out for the cause of the disadvantaged. Halleluyah!

🌏 CHRISTIAN MISSION FOCUS
Let’s pray for Panama 🇵🇦…
The nation is almost 100% Christian. Only 3% are unreached with the Gospel. However the Christian body isn’t doing much of missionary work. The main obstacles to greater mission being lack of unity, lack of vision and lack of training.
🙏🏼We are praying for the church that they will be strengthened in their spirit to continually serve the Lord.
🔹 START-UP PRAYER:
Dear Father, help me to stand up for the oppressed whenever I can in Jesus name.
🔹 PRAYER OF REDEDICATION
Dear Father, I thank you for your mercies over me since the year began. I am grateful for your ever-abiding Presence in me and with me and I declare that my confidence is not in my own ability but in your Word. Help me to walk in faith throughout this month and to show forth your praises in all that I do. I consecrate my whole body, soul and spirit to you today. Let your Name be glorified in me in Jesus Name. Amen.
