Work For A Giving, Not A Living

Let him that stole, steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth. ( Ephesians 4:28)

Conscious application of God’s principle is required for suitable employment and excellent job opportunities. There are too many people which see their job as the source of their prosperity. This is opposed to God’s idea. In Ephesians 4:28, the Apostle Paul showed us the reason for working: it is so we can have to give. It’s as simple as that. So, declare to yourself , “I will not live from paycheck to paycheck.” The change begins with that simple statement.

The Apostle Paul said, “I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus,  how he said, it is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35). Again, he shows us the mentality we must have as God’s children. That job  you’re doing is an opportunity for you to have money to give. Someone may be asking, “Pastor, my salary is not even enough for me; how will i survive if I give out of it? ” Well, that’s the reason you should sow for a harvest.

The Bible says , “Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom” (Proverbs 23:4). The Lord is telling you that it is his wisdom given to you that will make you rich! Trying to labour to get rich is man’s wisdom , which will fail.
In the church or ministry where you function, there are several opportunities available to help others on a larger scale. When you receive your income, immediately begin to think of how to give into such opportunities. This is the prosperity mentality God wants you to imbibe, for there’s surely a blessing for the one who gives. When you act like this, you’re saying to God: “You are my source,” and his wisdom, which is his word, will open your eyes to your immeasurable riches and inheritance in Christ.

GOD BLESS YOU!
